For Slickdeals, I visited PIX11 in NYC to share my hacks for a successful Amazon Prime Day.
- Amazon Prime Day deals are for Amazon Prime members only. The membership is $129 per year (or $12.99 per month), and includes unlimited two-day shipping, photo storage, access to Amazon Video, one select Kindle book per month free of charge, special discounts at Whole Foods and lots more. There’s a 30-day free trial, so why not??
- If there are specific things you need, set deal alerts on Amazon (on their site, their browser extension or their app). Or better yet, set a deal alert on Slickdeals, which will alert you to deals on Amazon, but also at other retailers, who may be offering competitive pricing. You can also compare pricing and easily test coupons by downloading Wikibuy, which is a very handy, free browser extension.
- To scope out other deals, check out the Slickdeals Amazon Prime Day page and Front Page and sign up on Amazon to receive emails from Amazon. You can also go to the site or app and click on “Today’s Deals”.
We can expect to see deals on Amazon’s proprietary brands, like Kindle, Echo, Core 10 and Stone & Beam, as well as deals from many of their 2mm retailers. Here are some of my favorites:
30% off Foreo
Foreo offers a range of facial treatment devices and sonic toothbrushes, is offering 25% off their Luna mini 2 and Luna 2 and silicone facial cleansing devices, which have numerous customizable settings, help to gently deep clean the skin and are more hygienic than other face brushes.
30% off Mission
To gear up for any activity in the summer, Mission – the leader in instant cooling accessories – launched the updated HydroActive MAX Collection including this HydroActive Max Instant Cooling Towel, which provides an instant refreshing and long-lasting cool when activated with water. It is perfect for everyday use, features soft lightweight fabric which is anti-microbial, odor controlling, has UPF 50 sun protection and is both reusable and machine washable. And best of all, it is super easy to use!
BOGO free at Whole Foods
Amazon bought Whole Foods market just under a year ago, and there are lots of Prime Day deals at Whole Foods! Spend $10, get an $10 Amazon account credit to use on Prime Day by scanning the Prime Code in your Whole Foods or Amazon app when you check out. You’ll also get 10% back on purchases up to $400, vs. the standard 5% back for Prime Members, and lots of items will be on sale, including their Allegro bagged coffee, which is buy one, get one free!
Amazon Devices on sale
We will also see lots of deals on Amazon devices, like the Kindle Paperwhite, which is regularly $119.99, but will be $79.99 on Prime Day. This is such a great reading device and your Amazon Prime Membership qualifies you for one free Kindle book per month, which you choose from select options.
