Is mom always zipping from place to place? Whether she’s jetting around the globe checking places off her bucket list, or if she has a 5-minute commute to work, she needs the best gear to get to her destination in style. Tried, tested, and “me” approved, these 10 items are must-haves for the on-the-go Mom, no matter where her travels take her.
Also, hear me talk about some of the fantastic gifts below at RMWorld Travel Radio. My segment starts at 23:05. Enjoy!
Fuse Chicken Universal All in One Travel Charger ($85 at Amazon)
This charger from the oddly named Fuse Chicken will charge her devices almost anywhere in the world. With 6,700mAh, it will fully charge her smartphones at least once. It has a US-B connection to accommodate most charging cables, as well as a US-C connection, which will charge newer laptops. It also comes with interchangeable wall prongs, so she can charge her devices no matter where in the world her travels take her.
InvisaWear ($129 at Amazon)
More than anything, when Mom is away, you want her to be safe. Available in a keychain, bracelet or necklace, the Invisawear is more than a charm. A double tap on the charm alerts five people she selects – including emergency responders, if she so chooses – of her location and that she is in danger. Invisawear is great for the mom on the go, but also for the mom who lives alone or who is infirm. There is no subscription required, but the charms need to be replaced (at a discounted price of $65) every 1-2 years.
Pelican Bottle ($25 and up at Amazon)
As a traveling mom myself, I love to save money by refilling a reusable water bottle. I love this stainless steel one from Pelican because – like everything Pelican makes, it’s virtually indestructible and has Pelican’s lifetime warranty. It’s leak-free, and keeps beverages hot for 12 hours and cold for 24! Available in three sizes and a variety of colors.
Diamond Brand Biltmore Double Take Tall Bag ($91 with shoulder strap)
This equestrian-inspired bag will take Mom from a stroll in the city to a picnic in the park. It’s big enough to hold her essentials, but it also comes with a removable insulated pouch that keeps up to two bottles of wine chilled. Talk about functional!
November Rain Rain Poncho ($60 at Amazon)
If there’s rain in the forecast, she should toss this cute, waterproof poncho into her carry on. It has a detachable hood and it’s big enough to cover her plus her shoulder bag or backpack. When not in use, it folds up into a handy 8″ x 5″ pouch. Available in a variety of colors and patterns.
Zizzy Bee Bags ($20 for 3)
When traveling, organization is key. These bags come in a set of three and are perfect for toiletries, snacks and other small items. They are made of a sheer mesh, making it easy to view the contents. Several colors and patterns available.
For bigger items, I love Travelwise packing cubes. I use them to hold my keep my clothes in order, which is especially helpful if I have multiple destinations in one trip. Mom will love them!
This stylish chain is so multi-purpose and functional! It can be worn around the neck and clips to a camera or phone to free up a hand while Mom is out and about. It can also be worn as a chic necklace or belt.
She needs to care for her skin on the road, and this kit has all she needs, including serums, face & eye creams and cleanser. All goodies are TSA-approved and housed in a beautiful, reusable bag.
Cabeau Fold ‘n Go Travel and Throw Blanket Plus Compact Case ($20 at Amazon)
Traveling in comfort is of the utmost importance, which is why I take this on every flight. It can be used as a headrest or lumbar support, or it can unfold and be used as a fuzzy, cozy blanket. It clips onto a travel bag when not in use.
Astral Hemp Loyak Everyday Lace Up Shoe ($100 at Amazon)
Made with 77% hemp, these unisex, packable and supremely comfortable shoes are perfect for everything from a light hike, a long flight or a stroll around the city. Hemp is a great material for shoes because it’s highly breathable and naturally antimicrobial! Available in three colors.
